Bridging lender Lakeshield has appointed Rory Taylor as its sales director with responsibility for the business development manager (BDM) team.

Taylor will also be tasked with broadening its broker partnerships and growing the loan book.

He has 16 years of experience in banking and commercial lending, as well as work across relationship-managed deal origination.

Taylor was most recently relationship manager at GB Bank, where he managed a portfolio of complex lending structures including bridging finance, refurbishment loans, mezzanine funding, and term lending. Prior to this, he held similar positions at Allica Bank and TSB Bank. Taylor also worked at Lloyds Bank where he progressed to a BDM and established an external introducer network.

Lakeshield said Taylor’s career history made him well placed to manage its BDM team and broker relationships.

Taylor (pictured) said he was “really excited” to join the lender and help it achieve its long-term goals.

He added: “My previous experiences have equipped me well for the challenge of moving to an ambitious specialist lender and helping them to solidify their reputation and accelerate their growth.”

Daniel Rodney, managing director of Lakeshield, said: “Rory’s background in broker-led origination and complex lending structures makes him well-suited to lead the sales team.

“He understands the broker relationships and introducer networks that form the backbone of the industry and brings hands-on experience of the deal types our team underwrite and complete.”
