Alex Grove has been appointed managing director of wholesale banking and will drive its division in originating, structuring and managing larger-scale relationships that support Chetwood Bank’s growth, diversify income, and make use of capital.
Grove has previously worked at Intrum, JPMorgan and retail investment bank BAWAG P.S.K.
Toby Sharp has also been appointed director of commercial real estate within the division and Nirvan Sunderam as managing director of wholesale risk.
Sharp will report to Grove and Sunderam will lead the second-line risk function for wholesale activities and report to Chetwood Bank’s chief risk officer, Paul Patterson.
Sharp has held senior real estate finance and securitisation roles at Hamburg Commercial Bank, BAWAG P.S.K., and Credit Suisse, while Sunderam has held senior structuring and risk roles across Bank of America, UBS, and Pemberton Capital Advisors.

Chetwood Bank has grown its balance sheet value to £7bn, funded primarily through retail deposits. It has a £3bn mortgage lending portfolio and, in the last financial year, lent £1bn through active forward flow relationships.
