POLL: Diversification proves key to survival
Last week’s Mortgage Solutions poll has revealed that diversifying or referring into other product areas has proved the most lucrative change for mortgage brokers in the tough economic climate.
The intermediary world has had to radically rethink how it works since the credit crisis and the poll found that moving into areas such as insurance and pensions has proved the best move for 44% of brokers.
A further 21% said that charging client fees has been their most successful change, while just 2% said it was down to further training.
However, 33% of brokers said that none of these options have worked for them so far.
This week’s poll asks whether brokers are actively recruiting new staff or looking to move onto a new employer themselves.
