MS Poll: Supportive lenders valued most
The latest Mortgage Solutions poll has revealed that brokers value lenders being supportive of their sector more than any other aspect of how they work.
The poll showed that 44% of respondents said they valued lenders which supported intermediaries by not doing such things as dual pricing or withdrawing products without notice.
Second most important was service for 20% of brokers, followed by underwriter accessibility for 17% and product rates for 13%.
Only 2% said access to BDMs was most important to them, while 4% went for the ‘other’ option, highlighting lenders that recognise when a client has been introduced by a broker and allows them to return to the adviser to get advice, and those that do not attempt to cross sell products.
David Hollingworth, head of communication at London & Country, said: “If there was an option for all of the above, that is probably what brokers would want. Obviously rate is important from a consumer point of view, but it shows how different the market is and what is valued more and more by brokers.
“It’s an age old problem for lenders finding the right mix of all these aspects, but it’s easier said than done.”
