A Mortgage Solutions poll found that 33% of voters expected lending to be around £150bn at the end of the year, with an additional 31% of respondents predicting a higher figure.
The Council of Mortgage Lenders expects gross mortgage lending to rise to £156bn this year.
The latest People’s Poll asks whether brokers think this increased lending will reach consumers through the intermediary market, or whether it will be lent direct by banks and building societies.
