Lack of mortgage broker protection sales ‘disgraceful’ – Stockton
Back in 1987, it was compulsory to have life insurance on a mortgage (or through the endowment), that’s why it was at or near 100%. Clients have more choices for their protection these days, and it is not compulsory.
Many have very good schemes via their employment which make it difficult to sell standalone cover.
We would all like more I am sure, but with the time it now takes to get a mortgage approved and followed from start to finish, sometimes you can run out of time to strike ‘while the iron is hot’.
