Poll: What next for interest rates?

The Bank of England has defied market expectations and held interest rates at 0.5% once again.

Investors and economists were predicting a 0.25% cut to the base rate in July, but Simon Checkley of mortgage broker Private Finance expects that interest rates will go down by as much as 0.5% in August.
