This week our Star Letter accolade is awarded to David Farrell for his comment on the post: Government unveils potential ban on new build leaseholds.
He said: “Good. At last the government is making a worthwhile change. Shame on the developers for trying such a predatory practice. They make enough profit and should start to operate ethically rather than just being driven by pure greed.
“I hope the government brings in huge taxes on land banking as well, that will force new build builders to stop stock piling land and pushing house prices up by restricting supply.
“If the entire UK market demand is 270,000 houses a year for the last 10 years – how do they justify stock piling land?”
