Mortgages plc
Mortgages plc has appointed James Brown as its new area manager. He will be responsible for developing business relationships within the northern Home Counties including areas in North London, Bedfordshire and Peterborough. Brown previously worked as a sales manager for Loans.co, based in Watford, and for JB Debt Recovery, in Luton.
Pete Thomson, head of sales at Mortgages plc, says: “James is a welcome addition to the team and I am delighted to welcome him to Mortgages plc. We have ambitious plans for 2004 and our sales team obviously has a pivotal role to play in achieving our targets.”
Paragon Mortgages
Paragon Mortgages has promoted Mike Potter to a new post as head of mortgage underwriting. Potter has worked for Paragon for 16 years in its underwriting department and, more recently, has managed underwriting services. He has a certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice and a diploma in mortgage lending.
John Heron, managing director of Paragon Mortgages, said: “This is a new post we have created in recognition of the strong growth in lending at Paragon Mortgages. Potter has extensive experience in mortgage underwriting and is uniquely qualified to help take the business forward.”
Platform
Platform has appointed Darrell Walker as its new business development manager to spearhead further development in the West Midlands.
Walker has worked closely with mortgage and commercial lending introducers and joins Platform from Barclays Bank where he was corporate business manager in the West Midlands region.
He has also previously worked at Coventry Building Society, Alliance & Leicester and NatWest.
Jeremy Duncombe, head of sales at Platform, said: “We are delighted to welcome Walker to the team. He will play a key role in developing business with our intermediary contacts in the West Midlands to take the business forward.”
Preferred Mortgages
Preferred Mortgages has appointed Sam Hallett as marketing and development manager. Hallett joins Preferred after a long career in the industry where she previously worked as a project manager for MGM Assurance.
Hallett commented: “I wanted to work for a company that is not only forward thinking in its approach but one that can predict and quickly react to market opportunities, maximising the potential for their customers.”
