Completions drop to 73,000 in October
Residential property completions fell to an estimated 73,000 in October down from the year’s high in July of 80,000, according to HMRC.
Figures from HMRC for completions on properties valued above £40,000 revealed that transactions dropped back from 77,000 in September 2010 and were notably down on October 2009 when completions numbered 82,000.
Nevertheless, provisional figures for the third quarter of 2010 suggest a rise in completions to 230,000 for the period compared to 222,000 transactions in Q2 2010.
This compares favourably with Q3 2009 when completions totalled 227,000.
