Newcastle Building Society has appointed e.surv as its panel manager for mortgage valuations.

Other partnerships for e.surv include its contract to supply residential survey and valuation services to Barclays, signed in December.

Richard Sexton, director of e.surv said that the partnership is one of the ways to make money given the difficult market conditions.

He said: “There are two things we’re doing with Newcastle. On the one hand, we’re the guys that go and knock on the door and get the mortgage valuations done. As a panel manager now, we won’t just be doing valuations but spreading those across the panel of firms that Newcastle is comfortable with.

“The whole market is very challenged at the moment because it is fed by mortgage valuations and demand is low for those right now, so our partnership with Newcastle will benefit us.”

Steven Marks, intermediary services executive at Newcastle Building Society added: “We were impressed by e.surv’s innovative approach and the contribution we believe it will make to our wider risk management strategies.”
