Home buying platform OneDome has appointed Mobeen Akram (pictured) as its head of new homes and partnerships.

In her role at OneDome, Akram will focus on strategic partnerships with housebuilders across the UK.

She will work on embedding the firm’s homebuyer service and mortgage proposition into the new home sales process. This will help housebuilders offer a “faster, simpler, and more convenient buying journey to their customers”.

Akram joins from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where she was new homes director for around five years.

Before that, she was at First Mortgage for around 12 years, initially joining as a financial consultant, then taking on the role of regional new-build manager and then new-build director.

OneDome said the hire was a “significant step forward” in its mission to modernise the UK property market by creating a digital journey for all stakeholders.

Babek Ismayil, founder and CEO of OneDome, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Mobeen to OneDome. Her track record in building strong relationships with housebuilders and delivering growth in the new homes market is second to none. With our integrated mortgage and legal service platform, we’re in a unique position to support developers and their customers – and Mobeen is the perfect person to lead that charge.”

Akram commented: “I’ve spent much of my career working with housebuilders, and I know first-hand the importance of a frictionless buying process. OneDome’s all-in-one platform is exactly what the industry needs to improve speed, conversion, and customer experience. I’m excited to join a business that is transforming the home buying journey and look forward to helping more housebuilders and buyers benefit from it.”

OneDome is reported to have bought digital broker Better.co.uk in May and said it is targeting 200 brokers by year end.
