Butterfield Mortgages has appointed Tom Blackmore as its senior relationship manager, with a focus on relationship management and service experience.

In his role at the London-based firm, Blackmore will focus on relationship management across the existing book of clients, as well as enhancing the service experience of current and future borrowers who have complex lending requirements.

Alongside these responsibilities, he will sit on the executive committee and work closely with Wendy Scott, the company’s senior business development manager (BDM), who oversees its business development activities and broker relationships.

Blackmore has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to this Butterfield Mortgages role, he worked at Arbuthnot Latham for eight years, where he concentrated on structuring complex lending solutions for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-HNW (UHNW) clients.

Blackmore said: “Butterfield Mortgages has a clear appetite to lend and support clients with sophisticated financial needs and structures. I’m eager to contribute to its continued success and reputation for delivering tailored mortgage and lending solutions to meet the complex needs of HNW individuals.”

Alpa Bhakta, CEO of Butterfield Mortgages, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Tom to Butterfield Mortgages. Providing an outstanding client-centric experience is a key part of what we offer, and Tom will add significant value to our relationship management team.

“His background in private banking makes him an ideal fit as we continue to support brokers and borrowers who are navigating a complex investment landscape. It’s great to have him on board.”

Earlier this year, the firm brought out a pair of fixed rates aimed at international and UK-based HNW individuals.
