The aim of the network is to showcase the talent of South Asian colleagues across the industry and show that diversity and inclusion are integral to innovation, trust and business success.
It will also offer a network to collaborate, share ideas and support professional growth across the mortgage industry.
The event launch will take place on 2 October between 5:45pm and 7:30pm at Lloyds Banking Group in London at 25 Gresham Street, EC2V 7HN.

The network is not just aimed at South Asian professionals and encourages anyone to join who would like to get involved and champion diversity in the sector. Stakeholders in the network include Accord Mortgages and P2M Group.
Gurpreet Chahal, regional sales manager for Accord Mortgages – who is leading the enterprise – said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be launching this initiative, alongside industry colleagues, which is very close to my heart and I hope will encourage collaboration, growth and support in the sector for South Asian colleagues.
“And this is just the start. We have a future vision, with more events to come, bringing together further cross-industry collaboration, supporting more members and helping our network to grow – which will ultimately benefit the sector and, in turn, our customers.”
Dina Bhudia, CEO of P2M Group – who is working with Chahal to launch the network – said: “Our cultures and values shape how we approach homeownership and financial decisions, which is why having a community is so crucial for sharing experiences and challenges.
“The South Asian Professionals and Allies Network is about having a voice at the table, helping our peers to understand us better, and creating opportunities for South Asian professionals to grow, thrive, and build their careers together through collaboration and unity as well as fostering inclusivity, paving the way for future generations to feel seen, heard, and empowered.”
Paul Purewal, corporate relationship manager at Coventry Building Society, said: “The mortgage industry is a great place to work and develop a successful career, and I have personally benefitted from the support I’ve received from both internal and external contacts. This initiative is an excellent opportunity to encourage inclusion and collaboration to help drive improved representation and showcase the industry as a great place to work”.
