Richard Howes (pictured) has been promoted to the role of managing director of Paradigm Mortgage Services, a newly created position.

His promotion comes after a group-wide review of Paradigm Mortgage Services’ operations, including its distribution strategy. Howes’ new role will involve driving growth across the business and building on existing partnerships with member firms, strategic partners and suppliers.

Howes joined Paradigm Mortgage Services in 2021 as director of mortgages. He was previously at Santander, leading the bank’s key account management functions.

Before this, Howes worked in Santander’s subsidiaries, James Hay and Cater Allen, after initially joining the Abbey Group of companies as regional manager for Scottish Mutual.

Paradigm has also launched a commercial function as part of its review, aiming to strengthen collaboration between key partners.

Bob Hunt, founder and chief executive of Paradigm Mortgage Services, said: “I’m delighted to see the hard work of Richard recognised in this promotion, which reflects his individual contribution and the confidence the group has in him for the next stage of our growth.

“Richard’s continued focus on our compliance, mortgage and protection proposition, including both internal and external relationships, will be vital as we look to do more for our supporting firms in a highly competitive and changing environment.

“Combined with the formation of our commercial team, these changes support our aim to grow our presence across more parts of the market, strengthen how we work with partners, and make better use of the wider capabilities within Tatton Asset Management Group. This is about putting the right people in place to support our members and to keep moving the business forward.”
