Coventry Building Society has reduced all fixed mortgage rates, with lower pricing now available to new and existing borrowers.

The mutual has made reductions of up to 0.2%.

Its two-year fix at 90% loan to value (LTV) with no fee and £500 cashback for first-time buyers is now priced at 5.17%.

Elsewhere, there is a five-year fix for limited company buy-to-let (BTL) remortgage against properties with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A to C, priced at 5.1% at 75% LTV with a £1,999 fee.

Ben Williams, corporate account manager at Coventry Building Society, said: “We’re pleased to be reducing rates across our fixed rate range, giving brokers more competitive options to support a wide range of clients, from first-time buyers to limited company landlords.

“These latest changes reflect our ongoing commitment to helping brokers find the right solutions for their customers in a changing market.”

Atom Bank cuts prime and near prime rates

Atom Bank has lowered mortgage rates across its prime and near prime ranges.

Pricing on its prime deals has been cut by 0.2%, while near prime rates have been lowered by 0.1%.

Atom Bank’s prime mortgage rates now start at 5.29% with a £900 fee, while its near prime rates start at 5.29% with a £1,995 fee.

Richard Harrison, head of mortgages at Atom Bank, said: “By reducing rates across both prime and near prime products, we are providing even better value to borrowers, irrespective of their credit status. We have cut rates where possible recently, quickly passing on improvements in the swap markets to borrowers.

“However, competitive rates alone are not always enough. Speed is also a key part of our proposition, with offers delivered sometimes within seconds even on our near prime range, giving brokers and their clients greater peace of mind and clarity. And, with lending available at up to 95% LTV for both prime and near prime, we can consider a far wider range of potential borrowers, particularly first-time buyers.”
