Ormonde has joined from Quantum Mortgages, a start-up lender he helped launch in 2022.
He has been in property and finance since the age of 19, moving into mortgages some 10 years later.
In 2004, he joined The Mortgage Times Group. Following the credit crunch, Ormonde joined Knight Frank as a BDM, working next at the State Bank of India and then spending four years with Foundation.
Ormonde was approached to launch Quantum Mortgages and was described as being “instrumental” to three securitisations in three years worth over £850m.
Darren Deacon, head of intermediary sales at Family Building Society, added: “Paul’s experience and pedigree is well-known, as is his business acumen. We are very pleased that he has joined us. His excellent relationships with mortgage brokers and other intermediaries in Central London, a market that is very important to us, will be invaluable.”
