An artificial intelligence (AI)-focused community for UK mortgage professionals has launched, as the use of AI continues to grow across the advice sector.

Mortgage Lab, a free platform designed for mortgage advisers, has launched with backing from five founding partners: Curvestone AI and JammJar as headline partners, alongside Keychain, Roma Finance and Instamo.

The launch comes as AI adoption among advisers surged. Intelliflo’s 2026 UK Advice Efficiency Survey found usage among advice professionals rose from 43% to 74% over the past year, with many using the technology for tasks such as note-taking, transcription and report writing.

Mortgage Lab was founded by Liz Syms, chief executive of Connect for Intermediaries, and Paul Brett, director of BTS Consult & Coach. Rebecca Whitney, founder of Advisory 9, and chief technology officer Mike Potts have also joined the venture.

Syms said advisers were no longer questioning whether to use AI, but were instead looking for guidance on how to adopt it safely and efficiently without risking client outcomes or falling foul of regulation.

“That’s the question Mortgage Lab exists to answer, with straight, practical guidance from people who work in this industry every day,” she said.

She added that support from five founding partners at launch demonstrated strong industry demand for mortgage-specific AI guidance.

Mortgage Lab said its content is designed specifically for the regulated mortgage advice process. The platform includes a daily AI news feed, a weekly Friday briefing, a podcast, and a library of practical guides and videos.

Brett said the pace of AI adoption among advisers had been one of the fastest changes he had seen in the market. He added: “I’ve spent nearly forty years in this market and I’ve rarely seen a change move this quickly. Adoption among advisers has jumped in a single year.”

The founding partners will support the platform through blogs, videos, webinars and training, contributing both free and member content.

Karl Griffin, chief executive of JammJar, said the platform would help brokers learn how to use AI in their day-to-day work, while reducing administrative workloads and improving efficiency.

Dawid Kotur, chief executive of Curvestone AI, said: “Advisers are adopting AI faster than almost anyone expected, and they want to do it properly. Mortgage Lab gives them practical, trusted guidance from people who understand the advice process.”
