The integration allows brokers to access household and landlord insurance from Assurant Intermediary’s product range and multi-insurer panel during the mortgage application process.

Once a mortgage application has been submitted through CRM Brain, brokers will be prompted to ask clients whether they would like help arranging home insurance.

The integration uses client data already captured in the module, without requiring brokers to switch systems or re-enter information.

Alongside standard buildings and contents insurance, the offering includes cover for landlords with houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), portfolio properties, limited companies and holiday lets.

It also covers more complex risks, including non-standard construction, listed and high-value properties, and homes with flood or subsidence histories.

Mortgage Brain said the integration also allows brokers to generate revenue from arranging insurance within their existing workflow.

Neil Wyatt (pictured), chief commercial officer at Mortgage Brain, said: “Every broker’s client bank is different. Some brokers work mainly with first-time buyers, while others see landlords or clients with properties that don’t fit the standard mould.

“Adding Assurant Intermediary to CRM Brain means brokers have more choice when it comes to protecting their clients’ properties, whatever the circumstances, without leaving the system they already use.”

Monita Suter, head of sales at Assurant Intermediary Limited, added: “Home insurance conversations work best when they happen at the right moment and in the right place. By bringing Assurant Intermediary into CRM Brain, brokers can raise home insurance at the point their client has just completed their mortgage application, without stepping outside the system they use every day.”
