Northern Rock delays application fee reduction to £99
Northern Rock has been forced to delay reducing its application fee for residential purchase and buy-to-let customers by 60% from £250 to £99.
The lender said in a statement that an “internal system error” was responsible for the delay and it was working to implement the fee reduction as quickly as possible.
However, some of Northern Rock’s external suppliers displayed the new fee on the day it was originally meant to be introduced, Monday, 23 August.
Northern Rock said it will honour the £99 application fee for all purchase customer applications submitted on 23 August.
Applications submitted after close of business on Monday 23 August will be charged a fee of £250 until the reduction is introduced.
