Ex-FCA director of mortgages leaves regulator
Linda Woodall the former director of mortgages at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has left her position as financial advice director at the regulator.

The regulator confirmed that Woodall has stepped down and is expected to retire.

She held the role of director of mortgages and consumer lending between 2013 and March 2015, before taking up the post of acting director, retail supervision and authorisations.

In November 2015 she became director of life insurance and financial advice.

Woodall began her career at the FCA’s predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) where her roles included acting director for one year.

Woodall is the second big name with mortgage experience to leave the FCA in the last six months.

In July Mortgage Solutions revealed that mortgage sector manager Lynda Blackwell had quit the regulator after 16 years.
