After 35 years as partner in Goldsmith Williams which became GW Legal, Eddie Goldsmith has retired from the firm.

Goldsmith is also the chairman of the Conveyancing Association and will be continuing in the role.

Eddie began his career in 1984 as one of the founding partners of GWlegal (formally Goldsmith Williams Solicitors), an equity release specialist and one of the largest providers of legal services in the mortgage intermediary market.

In 2017 Eddie won ‘Business Leader’ in the ‘conveyancer’ category at the British Specialist Lending Awards, sister awards to the British Mortgage Awards.

The awards, run by Specialist Lending Solutions magazine, recognise “the stand out achievements of the most deserving individuals in the specialist sector of the UK Mortgage Industry.”

Williams said: “I have nothing but lots of memories and lots of highs. It wouldn’t have been possible without working with lots of great staff both present and previously employed by GW.”

The firm said: “Although GWlegal is very sad to see Eddie leave it is business as usual for staff at the firm who will continue to carry the torch for Eddie.

“On behalf of the staff of GW they would like to wish Eddie a prosperous and happy retirement spending time with his family and travelling.”
