Livemore makes trio of appointments, Mesa Financial recruits director – round-up
Later life lender Livemore Capital has made three appointments including the recruitment of its first business development managers (BDMs).

Andrew McGill has been hired sales operations manager and brings with him 20 years of experience in financial services.

This includes roles in mortgage advice and customer service, as well as a 14-year stint as senior branch manager at Principality Building Society, his most recent position.

He will be instrumental in developing the customer journey and establishing Livemore’s new Bristol office.

The lender has also hired Rob Abdur, previously sales account manager and Austin Durant, former mortgage and equity release adviser at Key to the roles of BDMs.

Livemore said the appointments were in response to data from the Financial Conduct Authority, which showed there were 200,000 mortgage prisoners. It said this indicated a demand for interest-only mortgages and Livemore expects to adapt its offering to serve more customers.

McGill (pictured) said: “I’m excited to be joining Livemore as they double down on truly challenging the way the market views over-50s customers. There’s an opportunity here to make a real difference to people’s lives whilst creating great business outcomes, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Alison Pallett, managing director of sales at Livemore Capital, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Andrew, Rob and Austin as we continue to shake up the lending landscape on an increasingly bigger scale.

“We’re on a mission to deliver more choice and better outcomes for a woefully underserved market, and the growth and developments within our team are an exciting step along the way. I look forward to pressing ahead with our passionate and forward-thinking team to get later-life lending to where it should rightfully be.”

Mesa Financial appoints non-executive director

Sam Kirtikar has joined Mesa Financial as a non-executive director. The broker said Kirtikar had been brought on board to assist with its “aggressive” growth plans for the next few years.

Kirtikar has extensive experience running specialist advisory businesses, having recently spent 18 months as interim CEO at The Mortgage Broker Limited. Before that he spent five years as managing director of Clever Lending.

He will sit on the board alongside directors James McGregor and Francisco Mesa Bayer.

Kirtikar said that he was excited about the growth aspirations of Mesa Financial, and impressed with the network the adviser has built across all aspects of the specialist lending market.

He added: “Whilst working with the directors at Mesa, I’ll hope to assist them in their distribution plans, operational developments and to further develop the excellent Mesa brand across the specialist market.”

McGregor noted that Kirtikar brought a huge amount of experience and a proven track record of growing businesses in the advice sector.

“I believe this is a great step for Mesa Financial and we are delighted to have someone with Sam’s experience onboard,” he continued.
