Estate agent comparison firm to move into broker market
Rentround, a platform for comparing estate and letting agents, has announced plans to expand into the mortgage market.

The new comparison platform ‒ which will be run under a separate brand ‒ will allow potential borrowers to compare listings of brokers. Brokers will be able to include details such as their location, specialties, awards, ratings from services like Google and Trustpilot, a breakdown of fees, and the types of service on offer.

Brokers who sign up to be included on the platform will be required to sign up to either a monthly subscription or a pay-per-lead plan.

The broker comparison platform is being co-founded by Raj Dosanjh, founder of Rentround, and Sandip Sekhon, founder of the crowdfunding platform Go Get Funding. The aim is for the platform to go live in the second quarter of this year.

Rentround initially launched as a letting agents platform, and expanded into the estate agency sector in 2021. It now features more than 1,000 agents across the country.

Dosanjh said that the firm was already a top lead generator for agents on both the rental and estate agent side, and wanted to use its expertise in digital marketing to be a major player for lead generation in the mortgage broker world.

He added: “Comparing mortgage products is difficult, you need live data fed in from different providers. Many people looking for a mortgage aren’t quite sure which mortgage is right for them, which is where a broker is vital. This is where the focus of our platform will be.”
