Aldermore appoints Ross Dalzell as managing director for property division
Aldermore has hired former Barclays executive Ross Dalzell as managing director for its property division, starting from today.

He will join the bank’s executive committee and will report to chief executive Steven Cooper.

In his role, he will spearhead the bank’s new strategy in the property market, which the lender said was “central” to its future growth plans.

He will also oversee development of new products and services to support self-employed, first-time buyers and those with “less than perfect credit histories”.

Dalzell joins from Barclays where he was most recently managing director and head of business relationships for around a year.

He has worked at the firm since 2008 and held a number of senior roles including head of business banking products, head of corporate banking propositions and director of core banking and deposits to name a few.

Prior to that he worked at Alliance and Leicester as a senior marketing manager for just under three years.

Cooper said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ross to the team. He brings with him a wealth of experience that will be invaluable as Aldermore implements its new growth strategy, which our property division is central to.

“We’re a bank that’s always there to help people and businesses whose ambitions haven’t always been supported by the high street lenders. Ross’ expertise will play a vital role as we continue to offer greater choice and opportunity for people to go for it in life and in business.”

‘Help more people realise their homebuying aspirations’

Dalzell added: “Aldermore has long been committed to understanding and providing industry-leading service, underpinned by deep expertise and strong customer relationships.

“I’m excited to get started and with the help of the rest of my team, continue to grow and enhance our property offering, and help more people realise their homebuying and commercial property aspirations.”

Aldermore has been growing its team, recently hiring Derek Davidson as its Scotland lending manager.

Earlier this year, Aldermore’s group managing director of retail finance Damian Thompson also left the business.
