HTB increases special edition buy-to-let max loan size
Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has increased its Special Edition five-year fixed rate deal by raising its maximum loan to £25m from £1m in a significant development for the buy-to-let market.

The deal starts at a rate of 6.99 per cent.

Initially the product was launched in April this year for loans from between £100,000 and £1m.

HTB made the move after positive broker feedback and ‘high consumer demand’ for the product.

As the product’s maximum loan ceiling has now been raised up to £25m, it opens up access and makes the product far more attractive to experienced and larger portfolio property investor clients.

The product has a five per cent arrangement fee which can be added to the loan and is available as either early repayment charge (ERC) Lite or Plus.

The minimum interest cover ratio and ERCs are standard.

Overall HTB is a provider of specialist residential investment loans up to £25m for limited companies, offshore entities, expats and foreign nationals for professional investors.

Also there are loans for mixed use portfolios and semi-commercial properties.

‘Providing assurance at a time of uncertainty’

Chris Daly, managing director for specialist mortgages at Hampshire Trust Bank (pictured) explained: “Our BTL special edition product was introduced two months ago on the back of valuable broker feedback and today’s decision reflects how feedback we receive from brokers feeds into our product development decisions.”

“By making the deal a continued part of our product range we are providing assurance at a time of widespread uncertainty around rates and improving affordability for the wider buy-to-let market.”

“At HTB, we are dedicated to championing and supporting landlords and property investors of all sizes and this move further highlights our unwavering commitment to specialist buy-to-let brokers and their clients.”
