Cambridge and Counties Bank hires Lucas as product and proposition head
Cambridge and Counties Bank has appointed Tim Lucas (pictured) to the newly created role of head of product and proposition.

He will report to Cambridge and Counties Bank’s chief commercial officer (CCO), Sarah Barker, and work with the leaders of the company’s real estate finance, asset finance and marketing departments as part of its “growth strategy”.

Lucas joins from HSBC, where he worked for nearly 10 years, most recently as head of product for everyday banking, a role that he held for around two years.

Before that, he was senior manager for existing customer management for around two years, and before that, he was head of overdrafts for nearly three years. He was also overdraft product manager for around a year and started at HSBC in 2014 as an executive management trainee.

The bank said he joined at a time of “strong performance and growth”, and he will oversee the bank’s products across savings and lending to make sure they are “reflective of the current and future needs of its customers”.

Cambridge and Counties Bank has been growing its team, hiring Scott Barber as regional director for the North.

Barker said: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Tim’s calibre and exceptional experience to the senior team. He will play a central role in our strategy to be the ‘bank of choice’ for the UK’s SMEs and professional property investors.”

Lucas added: “Cambridge and Counties Bank is well-positioned to meet its growth aspirations in core areas such as asset finance and real estate finance. I look forward to working with all teams to deliver an enhanced proposition to our customers and the commercial finance brokers that serve them.”
