West One Loans has appointed four people to its team as it prepares to expand its residential mortgage and second charge divisions.

Lesley Terry has joined West One Loans as a regional account manager for the Midlands. She has more than 20 years of experience in the sector and joins from Saffron Building Society, where she covered the same region as a business development manager (BDM).

Before this, Terry was head of specialist lending at New Homes Mortgage Services for over 17 years.

Helen Linnen has been appointed as a BDM for the South West and Wales. She has more than two decades of experience working in the region for other lenders, and joins from The Mortgage Lender, where she held a similar role.

Terry and Linnen will report to Paul Huxter, head of intermediary sales and distribution at West One Loans. They will focus on developing broker relationships across the lender’s residential mortgage range.

The lender has also hired Jo Sharp, who has been working in the mortgage market for more than 25 years.

Sharp joins the specialist distribution team in the newly created role of key account manager. She will be responsible for looking after and growing West One Loans’ packager relationships across its residential mortgage and second charge products.

She joins from Tandem, where she worked for three years as an underwriter. She held similar roles at Pepper Money and Newcastle Building Society.

Marc Peprah has been hired as a telephone BDM for the North West and has more than 10 years’ experience in the sector.

He joins from Elva Finance, where he was head of mortgages.

The recent appointments bring the number of hires within West One Loans’ mortgage team over the last two months to 11.

This comes after the lender revealed it would be investing in its residential mortgage team to support its expansion strategy.

West One Loans said it was planning to announce a series of product and criteria changes in the coming months.

Marie Grundy (pictured), managing director of residential mortgages and second charges at West One Loans, said: “We are thrilled to welcome four exceptional new hires to our team, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to our organisation.

“Their addition marks another milestone in our ambitious journey to become the leading lender in the specialist mortgage market.”

She added: “Since we announced our major growth plans for our residential mortgage business a few months ago, we have been scouring the market for the right blend of talent, experience, and expertise to execute our strategy.

“We have that with the addition of Jo, Lesley, and Helen. We plan to make further additions to our team soon, while introducing some exciting product and criteria changes to our range that brokers and their clients will love.”
