S&U plc, parent company of Aspen Bridging, has secured £650m of new debt facilities, provided by two Tier 1 UK financial institutions, and £250m in group equity.

Aspen Bridging said the funding would give it the “financial firepower” to expand lending opportunities and scale its bridging, buy-to-let (BTL) and development business.

In September 2026, Aspen Bridging surpassed £1bn in total lending since its establishment in 2017. At the time, it had completed more than 1,250 deals, with an average loan size of £785,000.

Jack Coombs (pictured), chief operating officer at S&U plc, said: “These facilities substantially increase our scope for lending and the message we have to the market is simple – Aspen is here and in a better position than ever to support brokers and fund their borrowers’ projects across England and Wales.”
