Mint Bridging hires head of legal as Kuflink appoints new underwriter – roundup
Mint Bridging has strengthened its management team by hiring a new head of legal, while Kuflink has appointed a new underwriter in its short-term finance division to support its lending growth.

Mint Bridging has appointed Andrea Naylor to the newly created role of head of legal, joining from Goldentree where she worked for five years.

Her role includes managerial responsibility for Mint’s underwriting team.

It also provides opportunity to take a more strategic position in the business, including subsequent development work with Mint’s lawyers, valuers and quantity surveyors, alongside provision of additional support for funders.

The appointment of Naylor is part of a management restructuring, with the recent announcement of promoting head of underwriting Richard Showman to the newly created role of head of lending.

Naylor said that she is excited about the prospect of being part of a pivotal role in the company’s expansion.

Andrew Lazare, managing director of Mint Bridging, said that the changes made within the business and the appointment of Andrea Naylor will be reinforcing Mint as the predominant go-to bridging lender in the unregulated space.

He added: “Coming at a time when our loan book stands at a record high, we already see the potential that Andrea has brought to the table. With Richard’s recent well-earned promotion, both Andrea and Richard strengthen the core management team to take Mint to the next level in 2019.”

Alongside Andrea’s promotion, the company has been on a hiring spree over the past 12 months and relocated to larger offices.

Kuflink expands lending team

Kuflink Bridging has expanded its lending team with the appointment of Hiran Patel as underwriter, joining from Equifinance.

Kuflink’s newest recruit will focus on driving sustainable loan book growth, as well as equipping the team with the right knowledge to meet the challenge of its busiest year to date.

Kuflink CEO, Narinder Khattoare, said: “Following the launch of our quick bridge product at the tail end of 2018, we’ve seen a huge spike in uptake from new brokers as well as familiar faces.

“Hiran joining the team will help us to meet this growing demand, maintain our high standards and continue improving upon our already award-winning bridging service.”
