Speed of solicitors blamed by brokers for delays ‒ Apex
Most brokers believe that the speed ‒ or lack of it ‒ from a client’s solicitor is the principle reason for delays in bridging cases.

That’s according to a new survey by Apex Bridging, which found that 82 per cent of broker respondents pointed to slow solicitors as their main gripe.

Sonia Shortland (pictured), managing director at Apex, said that brokers need to become more “influential” when advising clients on which solicitors to use.

She explained: “This has been a theme for too long now and along with many other lenders Apex Bridging are establishing a panel of experienced solicitors that over time introducing brokers will use as recommendations so their clients do not experience the delays that could lead to a failed transaction.”

The study found that speed of service is the main priority for brokers when picking a lender to work with, with Apex noting that around 95 per cent of respondents said that the lender’s service levels were as good as any rivals in the market.
