YBS Commercial has hired three people to its business development management team to “better support broker engagement and increase the lender’s reach in the market”.

Chris Butler and Barry Dillon are departing their internal roles and will join the business development management team at YBS Commercial, and Thomas Mac Donnchadha Hill joins from Accord Mortgages.

They will work closely with existing members of the business development team, including Mike Davies, head of business development, and fellow business development managers (BDMs) Chris Gagg, Andrea Cotton and Christian Gooderson. The team will be based across England and Wales to allow it to maintain personal relationships and direct contact with broker partners.

Butler has worked at the firm for around two years, and before that, he worked at Yorkshire Bank for around a decade in various roles including bank manager, manager of small business and SME business manager.

Dillon has worked at Yorkshire Building Society for around a year, and before that, he was a BDM for Sancus Lending for over a year. Prior to that, he worked at Newable, Together and Santander.

Donnchadha Hill worked at Accord Mortgages for around 14 years as a BDM.

Mike Davies, head of business development for YBS Commercial, said: “We’re so excited to be growing our business development team to support growth, expand our reach in the market, increase levels of broker engagement and better support colleagues.

“This year, we’re aiming to grow our broker panel. This recruitment drive supports our ambition in this space, and I am confident that our enhanced team will deliver the excellent levels of support our broker partners have come to expect from us, as an award-winning commercial lender.”

Butler added: “I am looking forward to interacting with brokers and customers as well as key internal stakeholders to ensure the application journey runs as smoothly as possible, providing the best possible service from enquiry to completion.”

Dillon noted: “I am really excited to further my experience within commercial property finance and utilise my previous skills and contacts within both the sector and the business, to help me to best support our brokers and customers.”

YBS Commercial has said that it will double its workforce in 2024 and has created a London hub.
