Assetz Capital has appointed two business development managers (BDM) to its team to strengthen operations in the North West.

Callum Thompson (pictured, right) and Vincent Ricks (pictured, left) have joined the specialist lender to support SME brokers and housebuilders in the region.

Thompson joins from Together, where he was a development underwriter for two years, gaining experience across SME markets and an understanding of developers’ needs.

Thompson said: “Having spent two years underwriting deals for SME housebuilders, I’ve seen first-hand where the process can stall and what developers most need from a funding partner, particularly when timelines are tight and certainty matters most.

“Assetz has already built a reputation as a key specialist in the SME market, supporting developers and unlocking housing across the UK. That’s why I’m looking forward to applying my knowledge here, working directly with developers across the North West to help bring more schemes to site.”

Ricks has worked in the property and mortgage sectors for around 15 years across business development, including work with developers and brokers.

Ricks added: “15 years working across property and mortgage business development has given me a clear picture of the SME housebuilder market and where they need support most, whether that’s through funding certainty, timelines, or finding a lender that genuinely understands the market they’re operating in.

“Given Assetz’s depth of knowledge across the team and its genuine commitment to the SME developer market, it naturally felt like the right fit. I’m looking forward to putting that experience to work across the North West, building relationships with developers and brokers who need a funding partner they can rely on.”

Jake Hiskett, new business director at Assetz Capital, said: “Callum and Vincent bring real depth to our North West team, both in terms of market knowledge and their understanding of what SME housebuilders actually need from a funding partner. It’s this understanding that can make a real difference for housebuilders, providing them with the certainty and pace needed to get developments on site.”

“Their appointments reflect our continued investment in our teams across the UK, ensuring SME developers can access the right support no matter what region they’re based in in the UK. We’re building teams that understand local conditions and be there for developers when they need them most.”
