Visser joins the business from Bayport Financial Services Group, where he spent 11 years in a series of analytics and credit leadership roles.
During his tenure, he progressed from financial modeller to head of commercial analytics before being appointed group credit executive.
In his new role, Visser will oversee 365 Finance’s risk function, including credit risk strategy, portfolio and impairment modelling, and underwriting policy. The lender said he will play a key role in supporting its responsible lending framework as the business continues to expand.
365 Finance provides merchant cash advances to SMEs across the UK and Ireland, offering funding between £10,000 and £500,000. Merchant cash advances are repaid through a proportion of a business’s future debit and credit card sales and are designed to support cash flow management.
Warren Abbey, chief executive of 365 Finance, said the appointment comes as the lender continues to grow.

He said: “365 Finance continues to scale, and that is only possible with talented, hard-working people. George is already playing an important role in strengthening our risk function, which supports our mission to deliver fast and flexible finance to SMEs.”
Commenting on his appointment, Visser said responsible lending would remain a key focus.
He said: “SMEs are the backbone of the economy, and every business we fund is someone’s livelihood. Getting the risk assessment right matters just as much as making decisions quickly, and my role is about ensuring we lend responsibly while continuing to provide vital financial support to businesses across the UK and Ireland.”
The appointment follows a period of growth for 365 Finance as demand for alternative funding options among SMEs continues to evolve.
