POLL: 48% of brokers see fall in Q1 business
Last week’s Mortgage Solutions poll has revealed that almost half of brokers have seen their mortgage business levels decrease in the first three months of 2010.
The survey showed 48% of brokers saw their business fall in line with Bank of England figures, showing gross lending was down in Q1 compared to Q4 2009.
Despite this, 28% saw an increase in business, while 24% said their mortgage business levels stayed the same.
This week’s survey asks what type of deal the majority of brokers’ clients are going for now, after figures from John Charcol revealed 84% of borrowers went for variable rate mortgages in March.
