Two-thirds of brokers shun lead generation services – Poll
Just one-third of mortgage brokers use lead generation services in their business, according to the latest Mortgage Solutions People’s Poll.

Around 7,000 brokers were thought to have been affected by the decision by Google to close down Finance Leads Online at the end of the year, with between 1,000 and 1,500 advisers said to be active on the site at any one time.

Our poll asked brokers if they used lead generation tools to fuel their business, but 63% said that they did not use such services.

Just over a third of voters (37%) said that they used online services to provide leads.

Following the decision to close the Finance Leads Online, debate raged in the comment section between brokers.

Mortgage Solutions user KS said: “Who in their right mind would rely on leads? Not the best business model.”

However, another member responded: “Well I do and consistently write £15-20k of mortgage business alone every month. In my mind a very successful business model.”
