Mortgage Solutions and its sister title Specialist Lending Solutions select the most thoughtful or thought-provoking comment as Star Letter.

This week the accolade goes to Simon Wilkinson for his response to the post: Should home buyers get a mortgage Agreement in Principle before viewings? – Marketwatch.

He said: “Alastair and Neil are spot on.

“An AIP is often used as leverage by estate agents and some brokers to tie a client in to them.

“Protecting a client’s credit score is important and if their situation is embryonic, they have no adverse marks and they comfortably fit affordability, then an early AIP is not necessary.”
