The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning to consumers not to deal with a bridging sourcing system www.bridgingloansfinder.co.uk which does not have authorisation to carry out business.

Fraudsters are using this website to scam consumers by asking for upfront fees for applications which then fail to proceed.

The FCA described the company as a ‘clone’ firm which means it may be using a genuine company name, address or authorisation number to carry out its fraudulent activities.

In a statement the FCA said: “This is what we call a ‘clone firm’; and fraudsters usually use this tactic when contacting people out of the blue so you should be especially wary if you have been cold called.”

The FCA registered firm, Top 10 Finance Limited, that fraudsters are claiming to work for has no association with the ‘clone firm’.

It is registered to provide consumer credit services in the UK and its correct details are: Top 10 Finance Limited, www.top10finance.co.uk, permission number 657619, 10 Margaret Street, 0845 123 6004.
