Accord Mortgages promotes duo to corporate account managers
Accord Mortgages has promoted Gurpreet Chahal (pictured) and Andrew Calder to the role of corporate account managers, where they will manage key lender relationships and help deliver new propositions.
The promotions bring the total number of corporate account managers at Yorkshire Building Society’s subsidiary to three.
Chahal has worked at the firm for around a decade and was most recently retail area manager for around three years where he helped grow the business in the Midlands. He also worked on the Accord Broker Programme.
The scheme was launched in 2020 as a pilot and aimed to train retail retail colleagues to proactively contact intermediaries. This has allowed the sales team to reach more brokers and provided development opportunities for employees.
Prior to joining Accord and Yorkshire Building Society, he was debt management consultant at the Royal Bank of Scotland and also worked at Capital One.
Calder has been a business development manager for four years and before that worked at Yorkshire Building Society for around four years in various roles including development manager.

Both will work closely with fellow corporate account manager Iain Cunningham and Nicola Alvarez, who is senior manager for propositions.
Jeremy Duncombe, managing director of Accord Mortgages, said: “This is a great example of the quality of the talent we have within the business and our desire to support colleagues in their development and encourage internal promotion. I’m delighted to welcome Gurpreet and Andrew to my management team”.
