Home & Capital has announced the appointment of Sue Burgess as head of finance.

In her role, Burgess will be responsible for all financial aspects of the Home & Capital Group.

Burgess qualified as a chartered accountant in 1992, and has since worked in a variety of businesses. Prior to joining Home & Capital, she worked at Connells, where she was finance director of three of its subsidiary companies, including the specialist new homes mortgage broker, ONN Financial, and Sharman Quinney Estate Agents.

BSA

The Building Societies Association (BSA) has recruited Paul Broadhead, deputy director-general of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers, to the position of head of mortgage policy.

Broadhead will head up the Association’s new mortgage policy team and joins the BSA in November 2008.

He started his career with Halifax, carrying out a number of roles in the branch network across all product areas, as well as being a qualified mortgage adviser. He moved to the role of senior project manager – mortgages, and was closely involved with the development of the point-of-sale mortgage system.

Broadhead was then seconded to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, as business change manager on the home information pack (HIP) programme,where he had responsibility for stakeholder engagement as well as being chairman of the Central Stakeholder Group, the senior consultation board for industry leaders. He was appointed deputy director general of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers in March 2006.

CAL

Emma Pursey has been appointed finance & operations manager by Conveyancing Alliance Ltd.

In her new role, Pursey takes on responsibility for all CAL’s financial and office operations, which includes broker-facing payment arrangements.

She has previously worked with CAL on its business accounts, and was recently responsible for the new system delivering a weekly payment run, whereby brokers are paid their commission a week after completion. n
