Confused.com partners with Home & Capital
Home & Capital has become the exclusive partner for equity release for price comparison website Confused.com for under an agreement signed between the two firms.

Visitors to Confused.com looking for information and advice on equity release will be able to click through to a microsite operated by Home & Capital Advisers.

Consumers will then be able to find information about equity release and some of the lenders in the market, before speaking to an adviser about impartial, whole of market advice on equity release products.

Paul Chohan, head of mortgages and life assurance at Confused.com, said it was an important development for the website as it extends the range of products and services available through its website.

He added: “We recognise that the internet is increasingly becoming the preferred way of accessing information and researching financial products for the more mature members of society, as well as the young. We wanted to increase our offering in terms of retirement planning, and it made total sense to partner exclusively with Home & Capital, who have an outstanding reputation in the industry.”

Simon Little, director of Home & Capital Advisers, said: “Clearly equity release is not a product to be purchased online – this is a major decision that needs careful consideration based on independent advice, which is best provided face-to-face.

“But I’m certain it will help us open a dialogue with many people who could benefit from equity release advice, and who will value the opportunity to discuss alternatives which are available.”

Earlier this week, Confused.com linked with Evaluate Technologies to power its mortgage comparison service so brokers will be able to source both direct and broker only deals.

If consumers choose broker-only deals, they will be transferred to one of Evaluate’s broker partners.
