Plymouth letting agent pulls ‘offensive’ suggestive ad
A letting agent has withdrawn a leaflet advert, after complaints over its suggestive nature.

The leaflet for Clever Student Lets was circulated last December, and showed a woman’s face, shoulders and the top of her cleavage, with the text “The biggest in Plymouth. Why not take a peek…” above the image, accompanied by an arrow pointing to the rest of her chest, which was covered by a fold in the leaflet.

Under the fold, the advert continued: “…at our clever student properties? With over 3,000 rooms who says size doesn’t matter?”

A complaint was registered with the Advertising Standard Authority, arguing that the advert was “offensive and irresponsible”.

The firm told the ASA that the advert had been withdrawn, so the case was resolved informally.
