The Later Life Lending Event returned to an in-person event and saw key players across the sector come together to discuss the current market and emerging trends.
Speakers included Claire Singleton, who has recently stepped down as chief executive of Legal and General Home Finance, who discussed the firm’s later life strategy, as well as opportunities and risk.
Callum Bibe, analyst at UK Finance, outlined housing needs for older people, developers’ plans to meet those needs, funding needs and challenges. Dr Louise Overton, University of Birmingham’s director of the Centre on Household Assets and Savings Management, talked about the Financial Conduct Authority and customer vulnerability.
Panels in the afternoon also discussed products, service beyond equity release and reviewed the regulatory and guidance landscape.

Prior to being a journalist, Anna worked in ecommerce across Snow + Rock, Cycle Surgery and Runners Need websites, and before that worked at specialist financial PR firm Rostrum.
In her spare time, Anna enjoys reading, seeing live music, and cooking for friends and family. When she gets a chance, she also enjoys hiking, skiing and indoor rock climbing.
