Shawbrook Bank has named Craig Smith as a Business Development Manager (BDM) for South and Central.
Smith brings more than 12 years of business development experience, having most recently worked as Head of New Business Development at VIBE Finance. Prior to that position, he spent over eight years as a BDM at the Cedar Group.
In 2021, Craig won the prestigious Rising Star award at the British Specialist Lending Awards.

Of the appointment, Smith said: “I’m so delighted and proud to join Shawbrook. Through my previous work in the industry, I have come to know the company well and have always admired the Shawbrook ethos.

“I’m looking forward to showing brokers just what we can do for them and their clients, which I think will surprise a few people given just how diverse our product offering has become – it certainly did me.”

It has been a busy summer for Shawbrook. In August, our sister publication Specialist Lending Solutions (SLS) reported that the bank had had a significant increase in profitability, which it has ascribed to the strong performance of lending across its various ‘franchises’.
Meanwhile, a month earlier, SLS reported that Daryl Norkett had been appointed to the role of head of real estate proposition.
