In an update on LinkedIn, Harrington said it had been an amazing time with the business, with close to £2bn in specialist mortgages lent alongside “countless awards, funding lines and, importantly, laughs”.
He continued: “What a wild ride too: Brexit, Covid, four Prime Ministers, inflation, rates, wars. We’ve had it all and kept pushing through. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built: a truly powerful brand, strong funding and a top performing team that are not just colleagues, but some great friends too.”
Harrington said he would “remain close” with the business, pointing to his ownership stake, and added that he will continue to sit on the board.
He hinted that there was “something exciting and new” he was working on in the financial services space, along with advisory roles.
