Shawbrook appoints commercial director to focus on digital strategy
Shawbrook Bank is appointing a commercial director within its property division.

Jeremy Law (pictured) is joining the bank from the Post Office financial services division and holds more than a decade of experience in retail banking and specialist lending.

The lender said he would have a number of responsibilities, but his core focus will be helping with business planning and development of the overall IT and digital strategy.

Law has worked in a number of building societies and spent 10 years at Barclays occupying senior roles across product, marketing and distribution. He also spent time working in the Barclays African division.

Shawbrook Property Finance deputy CEO and managing director Stephen Johnson said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Jeremy’s calibre to the team where his expertise will help support our growth plans moving forward.

“Our emphasis on personal, case-by-case lending remains a key focus but it is important to ensure our IT and digital strategies are best placed to complement this.

“This role will be a key driver of transformational activity designed to improve the broker and customer experience, as well as our ability to respond to new opportunities, and I look forward to accelerating with Jeremy’s experience and insight,” he added.

Law said he recognised there were a number of underserved markets where customers needed to be supported.

“I really believe in specialist lending in the UK,” he continued. “I look forward to getting under the skin of such a fantastic business to help bolster the next phase in our growth.”
