L&G launches School of Excellence programme
The Legal & General network’s School of Excellence programme has returned for 2012 designed to train new mortgage and protection advisers to the industry.

The School achieved accreditation from the National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSFAS) in the summer of 2011.

The accreditation scheme is specifically designed for financial services training to recognise the training opportunities provided by small and large employers.

During the 12 week course, which leads to fully qualified CFII adviser status, delegates cover topics including product and market knowledge, selling skills and communicating and influencing techniques, including the use of CRM tools.

L&G said the success rate for the first programme was exceptionally high last year, with an average pass rate of 92% achieved by the delegates.

The School of Excellence will run three programmes in 2012, starting on 19 March, 7 May and 3 September. All courses will be held at L&G’s training centre in Kingwood, Surrey.

Mark Screeton, distribution director, L&G said: “We want to help our partner firms build their businesses for the future. Through the delivery of development and training we can help to ensure they prosper.

“Our approach is to work very closely with our member firms so that we can understand their business models and so develop bespoke solutions that add real value and sustained improvement to business growth. I hope that many more of our firms and advisers will take part in the programme this year.”
