Gatehouse Bank appoints Roger Evans home finance distribution director
Roger Evans is to join Gatehouse Bank as director of home finance distribution, leaving Aldermore where he was head of intermediary mortgage distribution.

Evans has over 30 years’ financial services experience spanning mainstream banking, financial planning and home finance to the newly-created role.

Before that, he spent a decade as head of sales at NatWest and RBS.

Evans will report to chief commercial officer, Paul Stockwell and be based at Gatehouse Bank’s Milton Keynes office, where he will lead the bank’s growing direct and broker-facing teams, providing finance facilities to businesses, landlords and home buyers.

Gatehouse’s property finance operation has expanded significantly over the past 12 months.

The bank entered the buy-to-let market in January 2018, launched its commercial property finance proposition in November the same year, and in December entered the home buyer market with the launch of its first home purchase plan product, a Shariah-compliant alternative to a conventional mortgage.

The bank confirmed it will expand its home finance plan range again shortly.

Evans said: “I am delighted to be joining Gatehouse. With the recent rebranding and forthcoming enhancements to the bank’s products in the pipeline, it is certainly a very exciting time to be coming on board.”

“The bank has a growing reputation amongst brokers and I am looking forward to working with the team and our broker partners to build on the tremendous success achieved to date and help the bank capitalise on the strong future opportunities for further growth.”

Paul Stockwell, chief commercial officer at Gatehouse Bank, said: “Roger’s appointment brings additional strength to our very capable team and this, together with our growing range of products and human underwriting service, makes us very confident for future success.”
