Scott aims to raise £10,000 to support Bongo.org Cycling Academy and Khaltsha Cycles, two South African organisations that support under-served communities in the country.
This will include a 500km bike ride and 5km of climbing over seven days between 1 and 10 May, with the UK-based initiative Black Unity Bike Ride.
Bonga.org Cycling Academy provides underprivileged youth with the opportunity to learn to cycle through training, mentorship and access to equipment, as well as other recreational activities. The organisation aims to give children a safe place to play and develop their skills while gaining access to education and knowledge to pursue careers and goals.
Khaltsha Cycles is a community-driven organisation that provides bicycles and cycling-related opportunities to young people in South Africa. It also aims to create a safe and inclusive space for them to learn to cycle, repair bikes and take part in community projects for self-development.

Scott said: “This trip isn’t just a cycle tour, it’s a mission to drive social impact change in townships where children desperately need access to better-quality education and opportunities. Can you imagine sharing a textbook with 10 other students? Or travelling 10km on foot to school every day? The initiatives we are supporting directly address these challenges, as well as provide key life skills, a framework for success and hope for a brighter future.
“Taking part in this fundraising adventure, with 35 other cyclists from all over the African diaspora, brings together my three passions: connecting with the outdoors, promoting physical and mental wellbeing, and raising the aspirations of young people. I’ve trained for the last six months by cycling 150km a week, running 10km a week, alongside lots of stretching and kettlebells.”
He added: “We aim to raise £10,000 in total, with every penny going directly to those who need it. Big love to everyone who has contributed so far.
“And, a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me raise c.£25,000 over the last two years for three charities over four events. My catchphrase is slowly becoming ‘this is the last one…’ but it’s hard to stop when there’s so much important work to do.”
