International property investors should be given the same treatment as UK-based clients, it has been said during a Market Financial Solutions (MFS) video debate.
Hosted in association with Specialist Lending Solutions, Richard Rinder, associate partner sales manager at Oriel Finance, said brokers charging foreign nationals high fees “burned a lot of clients” in the past. He said this created a “lack of trust”.
He added: “If you’re going to work within this sphere and work with international clients, they should be given the same due diligence and the same care as a UK-based client, because at the end of the day, their investment is a life-changing thing at times.
“There’s no reason why it shouldn’t be best service, best transparency and so forth.”
